Whooping Cranes are on the endangered Species list with only approx. 500 wild birds remaining in the world. Of the 4 remaining flocks the largest one migrates between Canada and Texas. The Whooping Crane Propigation Program between the U.S. and Canada (a 50 year effort to raise the endangered species) is coming to an end Sep 2017 as funding dries up.
